You can now free poor Buneary from her captivity at the hands of Professor Rowan! Click OK and whatever key you mapped to “touch” now emulates pressing the middle of the screen. The DS screen is 256 x 192 pixels, so half both of those numbers to get the exact center. For the purposes of playing Pokémon Platinum, you will need to touch the pokéball in the center of the screen. This tells DeSmuMe where on the screen you are touching. Click the checkbox that says “Use user-defined coordinates”. You will need to change this by clicking the “Settings” button to the right of that phrase. Once “touch” is mapped, the settings should say “Use Device Coordinates”. Any key that isn’t already being used works. What you need to do is map “touch” to a key of your choosing. You can also map the touch screen to a mouse (and maybe other options I’m not aware of). Here you can map the DS buttons to different keys on the keyboard, or if you use an external controller map the different buttons to your liking. In the DeSmuMe preferences, click on the input tab. I am playing on a MacBook Air without a mouse, so DeSmuMe does not recognize when I click the screen. I am not very tech-savvy, but I did solve this issue in about the stupidest way possible.
